Masterpiece Ad of Yesteryear #655 Chesterfield Ted Williams Stan Musial

This original 11 x 15" magazine ad from 1947 represents a period of history where the health effects of Smoking were not known or worried about.  It was a time when celebrities from all venues vouched for their favorite smokes to encourage purchases.  This classic ad showcases baseball stars Ted Williams and Stan Musial showing that their favorite cigarette happened to be Chesterfield.  They had to be in their early twenties at the time.  How times changed for this product compared to some others. Ad does have a small tear along left border, but this should not worsen as the ad is now stored in a protective sleeve.
