1911 Jap-A-Lac Glidden Colored Varnish - Magazine Ad

This original magazine page was published in April 1911 in "the Designer" Magazine and featured dress patterns and also Jap-A-Lac Glidden Varnish.  This varnish is what actually caught my eye as it was available in 18 colors.  Being that my husband restores old Edison phonographs from that time frame we thought perhaps this was actually a brand of finish that was used on them, especially the green oak cabinets.  Photo has been cropped just to reflect this ad but it is still untrimmed from the master 10 x 14" page.
